Dear Dave:
As a younger man, I began my life as a homeowner with several assumptions: that
people were basically honest, that they would do what they said they would do
when they said they would do it, and it would cost what they told me before
hand it would cost. As the years flew by, I became disillusioned with
providers of home repair services, adopting the attitude that not only was
everyone trying to chage as much for as little work as possible but that,
before every job was through, not only would I have to lose my temper but
threaten legal action to simply enforce the terms of a previously agreed upon
contract.
Then I met you. When I found your company in the YellowPages, I called
your company and got a friendly, live voice at the other end of the
phone. When you showed up at my home to take the measurements for my
fence, you were polite, respectful and friendly to my wife who kept saying, "He
was just such a nice guy."
Having had previous bad experiences with one of your competitors, I was not
looking forward to installation day. To my suprise, your workers
reflected the same conscientious pride in their work as you did and made
absolutely sure that everything was done exactly as I had expected.
However, in addition to that, noticing that another fence section and a gate
had been incorrectly installed by a competitor, at your request, they fixed
those at no additional charge, explaining that, "it would just take a few
minutes."
Dave, not only have you won a customer for life in me, but I will make it part
of my life's work to sing the praises of your company to everyone I know,
whether they need any fence work or not. I hope that, in some small way,

company.
